The San Jose Sharks improved to 6-9 after a two game home and away sweep of the Seattle Kracken to end November.
Despite the losing record San Jose is much improved in 2024-25.
The forgettable 2023-24 season did bring the hope of a franchise changing top overall pick of the 2024 NHL Draft.
That picked turned into 18yr old Canadian Macklin Celebrini. Still in his teens Celebrini has room to grow but he has fit right in to the fast physical world of the NHL.
Macklin has 8 goals and six assits thru the first 15 games of his career.
Other then a four game stretch where Celebrini did not tally any kind if a point Macklin has been pretty consistent scoring goals and getting assists.
In Macklins last four games he has 4 goals and three assists. He seems to be good at skating into open ice where he can go for goal himself or set somebody else up for a shot.
Macklin needs to get stronger, but what teenager who is playing against grown men doesn't.
San Jose started 0-10-1 last season before the bottom dropped out of their season with 14 losses in a 15 game stretch from December into Jan.
The Sharks are at the point in their season this year when teams have tape on you and can start exploiting your weaknesses and defend against your strengths.
San Jose is much more competitive this season and the play of the rookie Celebrini is part of the reason why.
